A myoma of the uterus – this is one of the most common benign tumors in women of reproductive age. Very often, myoma can become a cause of infertility. Traditional treatments for myomas – surgery (myomectomy, hysterectomy), or embolization.

A more gentle method that allows to maintain fertility is a non-surgical removal of miomas with ultrasound. It can be compared with taking out an apple core, not cutting it. The doctor conducts ablation (“evaporation”) of mioma using focused ultrasound under continuous MRI control. The method was introduced in 2004 and over the years there has been more than 5,000 such manipulations over the world. The advantage of the method is in the absence of bleeding, seams and pain. Treatment is carried on ambulatory basis, duration –  1 day.
