Implantable loop recorder in Germany

Implantable loop recorder: a modern method for diagnosing hidden arrhythmias

The implantable loop recorder (ILR) is a miniature long-term heart rate monitoring device that can detect rare and dangerous arrhythmias. In Germany, IPR implantation is performed on an outpatient basis using the latest technology, which ensures accurate diagnosis with minimal intervention.

At RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum, the procedure is performed by cardiologists with experience of 500+ implantations, guaranteeing maximum safety and high information content of the study.

How does a loop recorder work?

The matchbox-sized device (45x8x4 mm) is implanted under the skin in the chest area and:

  • Continuously records ECG for up to 3 years
  • Automatically records episodes of arrhythmias
  • Saves data when the patient presses the activator button

Specifications:

  • Weight: less than 15g
  • Memory: up to 60 minutes ECG
  • Activator range: up to 2 m
