For information about our 3 Tesla MRI Siemens Skyra and about the jointly operated with our radiologists MRI / TRUS Fusion Biopsy System UroNav
The Targeted MRI / ultrasound biopsy is developing into the new standard for prostate examinations. This technique merges the MRI images of the preliminary investigation with ultrasound-guided biopsy recordings in real time. The prostate and suspicious lesions can be precisely delimited and the biopsy needle is clearly visualized.
A small, locally defined electromagnetic field is generated after the fusion of MRI with ultrasound images through two tiny sensor coils. Similar to the GPS system in the car, an electromagnetic navigation is made via this field, through which are determined the precise orientation and location of the biopsy needle. Even if the patient moves, the connection between the MRI and ultrasound images is maintained by a sophisticated algorithm.
UroNav allows clinical use of convincing MRI / ultrasound fusion technology. It combines electromagnetic navigation with an integrated computing unit and a graphical user interface in a user-friendly and mobile workstation. The combining of UroNav with Invivo’s powerful DynaCAD visualization and analysis software provides a comprehensive MRI / ultrasound next-generation solution for the identification and biopsy of suspicious prostate lesions.
This enables a high level of integration and seamless cooperation between radiologists and urologists without previous work processes influence.
