Treatment of cardialgia in Germany
“Modern approaches to the treatment of cardialgia: from differential diagnosis to complex therapy

Cardialgia is a pain syndrome in the heart area that is not associated with an acute violation of the coronary circulation. Unlike angina, these pains have a variety of origins and can be caused by both cardiac and non-cardiac causes. According to statistics, up to 30% of patients in cardiology clinics complain specifically about cardialgia.
RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum (Germany) uses an integrated approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cardialgia, which makes it possible to accurately determine the cause of the pain syndrome and select effective therapy.

- Holter monitoring
- Coronary angiography (if IHD is suspected)
Exclusion of noncardiac causes
- Chest X-ray
- MRI of the spine (for osteochondrosis)
- Ultrasound of the abdominal organs
- Gastroscopy (to exclude GERD)
Additional Research
- Tests for thyroid hormones
- Psychotherapeutic consultation
- Vegetative tests
Treatment methods for cardialgia
Drug therapy
- Sedatives (if psychogenic in nature)
- Muscle relaxants (for vertebrogenic cardialgia)
- Gastroprotectors (for GERD)
- B vitamins (for neurological reasons)
Non-drug methods
- Psychotherapy
- Acupuncture
- Therapeutic exercise
