Classification and stages of angiosarcoma
The classification is based on tumor size, depth of germination and the presence of metastases:
- Localized form – the tumor is limited to one anatomical zone.
- Regional spread – damage to the lymph nodes.
- Metastatic stage – distant metastases (lungs, liver, bones).
Histological types:
- Cutaneous angiosarcoma (more often in the elderly).
- Post-radiation (develops after radiation therapy).
- Idiopathic (without obvious causes).
