Treatment of brain tumors in Germany
Modern methods of treating brain tumors: from accurate diagnosis to personalized therapy

Brain tumors are one of the most complex areas of neuro-oncology, requiring the highest diagnostic accuracy and an individual approach to treatment. RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum uses advanced technologies, including neuronavigation, stereotactic radiosurgery and minimally invasive surgery, which allows us to achieve excellent results even in difficult cases.
Symptoms of brain tumors
Manifestations depend on the location and size of the tumor:
- Headaches (usually in the morning, worse with exercise)
- Nausea and vomiting unrelated to food intake
- Convulsions and epileptic seizures
- Problems with vision, hearing or speech
- Weakness in limbs, loss of coordination
- Changes in personality, memory, concentration
When these symptoms appear, urgent diagnosis is necessary – early detection of the tumor significantly improves the prognosis.
Diagnosis of brain tumors at RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum
We use high-precision methods:
- 3 Tesla MRI with contrast – detailed imaging
- PET-CT – assessment of metabolic activity
- Stereotactic biopsy – precise sampling of material
- Molecular genetic analysis – selection of targeted therapy
- Electroencephalography (EEG) – for episyndrome
Our world-class neurosurgeons make diagnoses with minimal error.
Each direction is supervised by advanced oncologists.

Classification and stages of brain tumors
WHO classification (grade 1-4):
- Benign (meningiomas, pituitary adenomas) – slow growth
- Malignant (glioblastomas, astrocytomas) – aggressive course
- Metastatic – secondary lesions in cancer of other organs
The earlier a tumor is detected, the more effective the treatment.
Treatment methods for brain tumors
Surgical removal
- Craniotomy with neuronavigation – the most precise excision
- Endoscopic operations – through minimal incisions
- Intraoperative MRI – real-time monitoring
Radiosurgery and radiation therapy
- Gamma Knife and CyberKnife – no incisions for small tumors
- Proton therapy – gentle radiation in children
Drug treatment
- Targeted therapy – for specific mutations
- Immunotherapy – activation of antitumor immunity
Rehabilitation
- Restoration of speech, motor skills and cognitive functions
Survival prognosis
- Benign (grade I meningiomas): >90% 10 year survival rate
- Low-grade gliomas (II Art.): 60–80% 5 year old
- Glioblastoma (IV Art.): 15–20 months (median survival)
- Medulloblastomas (in children): 70–80% 5 years with combined treatment
A brain tumor is not a death sentence. At RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum, we use revolutionary technologies to give patients the chance to live a fulfilling life.
