Symptoms of bronchial carcinoma

The clinical picture depends on the location of the tumor:

Central cancer (70% of cases):

    Classification and stages of bronchial carcinoma

    Histological types:

    • Squamous (40-50%)
    • Adenocarcinoma (30-35%)
    • Small cell (10-15%)
    • Large cell (5-10%)

    Staging according to TNM 8th revision:

    • Stage I: tumor ≤4 cm without lymph node involvement
    • Stage II: tumor >4 cm or damage to peribronchial lymph nodes
    • Stage III: locally advanced process
    • Stage IV: distant metastases

    Surgical treatment:

    • Video-assisted lobectomy/bilobectomy
    • Circular resection of the bronchus in early forms
    • Extended operations for locally advanced process

    Radiation therapy:

    • Stereotactic radiosurgery (CyberKnife)

    Systemic therapy:

    • Targeted drugs (Osimertinib, Alectinib)
