Treatment of ovarian carcinoma in Germany

Innovations in the treatment of ovarian carcinoma: from surgical debulking to PARP inhibitors

Ovarian carcinoma is an aggressive cancer that ranks 5th among the causes of cancer mortality in women. RheinRegio Klinik Zentrum uses advanced treatment protocols, including HIPEC cytoreductive surgeries, targeted therapy and individual chemotherapy regimens, which can significantly improve the prognosis even in advanced stages of the disease.

Symptoms of ovarian carcinoma

The early stages are often asymptomatic. Warning signs:

  • Abdominal enlargement (ascites)
  • Pelvic pain of unknown origin
  • Disorders of urination and defecation
  • Quick satiety when eating
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Menstrual irregularities (in young women)

If these symptoms are present, an urgent gynecological examination is necessary.

  • Transvaginal ultrasound with Doppler ultrasound
  • MRI of the pelvis with diffusion-weighted images
  • CT scan of the abdomen with contrast
  • Analysis for tumor markers (CA-125, HE4, ROMA index)
  • Diagnostic laparoscopy with biopsy
  • Genetic testing (BRCA, HRD status)

Each direction is supervised by advanced oncologists.
